The Momenta Quartet has big news!

It's been a long-time coming, but we officially have our own 501(c)(3) status. We took over violinist and composer Cornelius Dufallo's nonprofit organization, which shares our mission. The official name of the entity is:

This year your support is even more crucial, due to a bureaucratic error at the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). Momenta has received substantial support from NYSCA for over 10 years, but NYSCA randomly disqualified our 2025 application for an erroneous reason. BUT - well...when a government official makes a mistake....it doesn't seem to matter, and their decision is final.

There's a $20,000 hole in Momenta's budget, and now more than ever, we are counting on the support of our friends to make the tenth annual Momenta Festival a reality!

Some of you have already donated to us through our fiscal conduit, The Field. Not to worry - we will definitely receive your gift. We love The Field, and will remain with them throughout this transition.

Many of you attended our ninth Momenta Festival in October, celebrating Charles Ives at 150 and the twentieth anniversary of the quartet. Central to Momenta's mission is making innovative concert programming and top-level performance accessible to ALL. We strive to make our self-produced events free or by donation. Momenta relies on the generosity of its friends and fans to make this all possible.
