A Message from Michael:

​Dear Friends and Supporters of Momenta Quartet,

This holiday giving season we are asking you to keep Momenta Quartet in mind! One of our main goals as an ensemble has always been offering concerts at low or no cost to our audiences. We have a number of free concerts in and around New York City planned for 2026, but as always, we rely on our generous individual supporters to make these events a reality. This is especially true of our annual four-concert Momenta Festival, which we strive to keep free (or pay what you wish) every season.
Music is for everybody! We want to keep our concerts free for all members of our community, but we can’t do that without your help.

Hailed by New York Music Daily as “one of the most amazingly eclectic, never mind herculean feats attempted by any chamber ensemble in this city," the Momenta Festival is the cornerstone of our concert season, and all four concerts are free! If you missed the festival in October please enjoy the video below of the finale of Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet, featuring our friend and brilliant clarinetist Pascal Archer.

But the Festival concerts are not the only free events on offer! This past year we performed for audiences in Dutchess County, New York on the Classics for the Cows series, at Avaloch Farm Music Institute in New Hampshire, at the Sunday Music Series in Cold Spring, New York, at Binghamton University, and in New York City at Manhattan’s Center for Jewish History and the Andrew Freedman Home in the Bronx. All these events were free and open to the public. We hope to continue all of these endeavors in 2026. ​

We are wrapping up our season, but there is still one concert left in 2025 - a holiday concert in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn at Union Church (where Alex's wife Nana is the music director) this Sunday. In addition to holiday classics (including Stephanie's new "Carol of the Ravels"), we will close the concert with a performance of Ravel's String Quartet - a final shout-out to the composer in his 150th birthday year. This concert is free for children 12 and under, and for others, it's a suggested $20 donation:

Our next free concert in NYC will take place on Saturday April 9 at 4pm at the historic landmark mansion, The Andrew Freedman Home, in the South Bronx - music by Shawn Jaeger, Joseph Haydn and another performance of Ravel.
