Momenta Festival IX features four diverse chamber music programs, each curated by a member of the quartet. With programs that blend the old and new, the "intriguing programming" (The New York Times) and "striking originality" (I Care If You Listen) of the Momenta Festival have been acclaimed by critics and fans alike. The ninth edition of the festival celebrates two anniversaries: 150 years of Charles Ives and 20 years of Momenta Quartet. Each night a work by Ives will be performed by the quartet and special guests. To commemorate the quartet's 20th anniversary, the festival will feature - for the first time ever - a chamber orchestra on the final night performing a program that includes the world premiere of a viola concerto by Stephanie Griffin, selections from Ives' A Set of 3 Short Pieces, and more. Other highlights throughout the festival include a world premiere for bassoon and string quartet by Eun Young Lee, Florence Prices' Piano Quintet in A minor, Timo Andres' "Thrive on Routine" and much more.
