Friday Broadcasts: February 10 and 17, 8pm February and March Events And back to the recording studio tomorrow! www.wwfm.org/Best wishes for the Year of the Rabbit! And a very special thank you to all of you who donated so generously to our year-end fundraising campaign - we actually exceeded our goal, with a couple of you donating a little after (and even a little before!) the crowdfunding campaign began, and we are in the throes of planning next year's Momenta Festival. For those of you who missed the last festival or would like to hear selections from it again, live recordings and an interview with all of us by David Osenberg will be broadcast on WWFM on two consecutive Fridays at 8pm Eastern- February 10th and 17th. Tune into the show "The Classical Network in Concert" on www.wwfm.org (If you have a real radio and live in Central New Jersey or Eastern Pennsylvania, tune into FM 89.1) What else is happening tomorrow? We are heading back to Oktaven Audio to record Julián Carrillo's String Quartet no. 11 as part of our big project to record all 13 Carrillo quartets for Naxos. We've already recorded the first album, generously supported by a Chamber Music America project grant, but it will take a while for these records to come out. Wish us luck! And we will keep you posted as this project unfolds. Momenta Quartet does not have any concerts in February, but we have been rehearsing a lot for the recording and a whirlwind of activity about to happen in March. We've all been performing a lot as individuals and with other groups, and in fact - I would like to tell you about a very special concert of my own compositions at Americas Society on Tuesday, February 28 at 7pm. I am very excited about the world premiere of my new song cycle, Beautiful You Are, commissioned by Americas Society with a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts, along with the live concert premiere of my piece for solo piano and a new dance score for 2 oboes, clarinet and piano - with choreographer Sameena Mitta and her MeenMoves dancers.
