Momenta is featured at the 43rd Festival Internacional Cervantino in Guanajuato, Mexico, one of the most important artistic and cultural events in Latin America. The program is in homage to Mexican composer Julián Carrillo, featuring his music alongside Ives’ iconic second string quartet and the virtuosic experimental rollercoaster that is Arthur Kampela’s “A Knife All Blade.”

Momenta continues its Carrillo Project, learning and performing the thirteen string quartets of Mexican maverick Julian Carrillo. This program includes the US premiere of String Quartet No. 6, the world-premiere of which was given by Momenta in October at the International Cervantino Festival.

In honor of Alvin Singleton’s 75th birthday, Interpretations presents a concert of his music at Roulette. Momenta performs his “Somehow We Can” (1994) and “Secret Desire to be Black” (1988) for string quartet.
