Ushering in the New Year with Brahms and Schumann!

Happy New Year!

And a heartfelt thank you from all of Momenta to all of you who donated to our year-end campaign…there are still donations coming in, but so far we have almost made it to our goal with $8235 of our $10,000 goal. If anyone would still like to contribute the link is still active. One can help Momenta at any time! The only real “deadline” was for a 2018 tax deduction.

Meanwhile, we are thrilled to be ushering in the new year with two of the most important pieces of the piano quintet repertoire, by two close friends and colleagues (of each other – not of ours, of course): Brahms and Schumann – with two of our own close friends and colleagues, the pianists Melody Faderand Lenore Davis! Both of these concerts also feature some of our best-loved vocal collaborators: mezzo-soprano Reut Ben-Ze’ev and tenor Andrew Fuchs.

We will be playing the Brahms Quintet THIS FRIDAY, as part of an all Brahms concert, featuring one of my all-time favorite pieces in the viola repertoire – his gorgeous Two Songs, Opus 91 for mezzo-soprano, viola and piano, with the fabulous singer Reut Ben-Ze’ev:

E. Housman’s “A Shropshire Lad,” for tenor, string quartet and piano. Andrew and Lenore will round out the program with a set of songs by David Leisner.
